Frame dimensions 28 1/2 x 40 in.
Lester Hughes was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas. Despite being colorblind, he taught himself to paint and garnered great acclaim for his majestic landscapes of the Southwest. His work has been admired and purchased by several United States Presidents, politicians, movie-stars and professional athletes. In a 1981 article with Time Magazine, President Ronald Regan stated that a painting by Hughes was among his favorite memorabilia.
