Included in this lot is a Persian Heriz Serapi, hand knotted wool area rug originating from the 1930's. The rug features a fine detailed design, bright colors, and a tight weave. The Heriz rug is one of the most well-known styles of Persian rugs, known for its unique styles and patterns. The rugs are produced in the city of Heriz, which is located in northwestern Iran near the city of Tabriz. The piece shows geometric floral patterns along the border, with the center of the rug showing a large geometric medallion. The rug is predominately a red color with black, orange, cream, and green throughout the piece. The rug shows good condition overall, with little to no wear. The rug measures 119" wide by 142" long.
