Description
Fine 20th century cast bronze bust statue of Elizabeth woman or Marie de Medici, Queen of France from 1600-1610. This remarkably elegant and quality in detail rendering is similar to that those of his father was the sculptor and his siblings included sculptors MATHURIN MOREAU (FRENCH, 1822-1912) and Auguste Moreau. Stamped on verso "H. Moreau" as shown and measuring approx 21" tall. See photos. Hippolyte Francois Moreau was a French sculptor famous for his bronze statuettes of young women. Born in 1832 in Dijon, France as the son of the renowned sculptor Jean-Baptiste Moreau, he grew up learning from his father's workshop.
