Description
A pair of Levantine stone stamp seals. The first is in black steatite, c. 2nd Millennium BC, domed with central hole and flattened sides, each with a stylized figure or animal. 19 x 11 x 10 mm. The second is an Iron Age seal, c. 1000 - 500 BC, in a speckled brown steatite, the rectangular seal with incised standing figures on either side flanked by stylized palm devices, incised lines on the narrow edges and holed lengthwise for suspension. 15.5 x 11 mm. Ex collection of Peter Cheremisinoff, NJ.
