Provenance: Zeiser Collection, St. Louis, MO, purchased from Donald Zeiser in 2019 by current owner, a private NYC collector.

Condition: Head reattached; jade thoroughly included in shades of brown, amber and white.

Note: Whitened areas formed by acicular crystals, most commonly, whitening or crystal growth can only be observed on the surface of the artifact buried in humid soil or on the surface in contact with humid soil. Therefore, whitening or crystal enlargement is likely due to the degrading or aggrading recrystallization in wet or humid conditions.
