(Italian, 20th century), Dalla Terra la Vita, Dalla Vita Ogni Bene [From the Earth Life, From Life Every Good], c.1950s, possibly earlier, oil on canvas, signed lower left, and signed and titled on reverse, 38 x 58 inches. A powerful social realism scene showing the responsibilities of an Italian farming family. The words Renzo, Al Capo Cantonier and Sig. Vezzano appear on the reverse but have been struck through. Provenance: private collection, Pittsburgh, PA, brought over from Italy in the 1950s. We were not able to find any additional info on an artist named P. Venturini.

General good condition with signs of early crazing in places; very small paint loss to center of left edge and one tiny spot in the mountain toward the center.
