⁂ A rare edition at auction. Includes the confutation of Johann Weyer's beliefs, who considered those accused of witchcraft to be suffering from a mental illness, as so-called 'magical acts' were impossible. Consequently, he felt that those individuals should not be persecuted. Bodin's views were diametrically opposed, and he believed that witchcraft should be punishable by law.
