Document addressed to Lord Eldon, Chancellor of Great Britain dated 1824 and signed George R. The document is granting King George's authorization for the appointment of Edward Michael Ward, Esquire as Secretary of the British Embassy in Russia (under Czar Alexander I at the time) and counter signed by Foreign Secretary and future Prime Minister George Canning. Contains red wax and white paper Royal Seal. (Czar Alexander died only months after this appointment was made).
