Description
Swiss, circa 1800 (case); Hamburg American Clock Co. (German, 1883-1930), after 1892 (movement). Neoclassical gilded bronze pendule d'officier or officer's carriage clock, the handle with two serpents, the case decorated with various trophies, and on paw feet; the later movement with brass face and Arabic numerals. The movement with crossed arrows mark, the underside with plaque reading "None Sonnerie/Petite Sonnerie/Grande/Sonnerie". Approx. h. 8.5", w. 5.5", d. 4".
Condition
Evidence of original fire gilding; later movement with key and pendulum not present; untested; no breaks to glass.
