(Takara, c.1970s) A Mechanism Block DX (Deluxe) set manufactured by Takara as part of their Tetsuwan Atom line depicting iconic anime hero Mighty Atom (the Japanese moniker of Astro Boy) and his robot endoskeleton. The endoskeleton can be inserted into the hollow Astro Boy figure or built on its own in a variety of configurations. The toys, instruction manual, and unused decal sheet are housed in the original styrofoam and cardboard box with internal viewing window. The figure Astro Boy figure measures 10" tall and all the toy components are in fine, unused condition. The box measures 11.25"x10.25" and 3" deep and exhibits some surface loss at the edges and minor handling wear.
