John Ward Lockwood (American, 1894-1963). Acrylic painting on canvas titled "Alamos," depicting an abstract expressionist cluster of alamos, or cottonwood, trees in vibrant green against a gray background. Signed along the lower right. Amon Carter Museum, Texas, Canfield Gallery, New Mexico, Astilli, New Mexico, and The University of Texas Art Museum "Lockwood Exhibition" label affixed along the verso. Stamped "KU 97" along the verso.
