DSP. Sign is Maker Marked Burdick. A very rare an outstanding displaying Porcelain Sign from Johnson Gasoline & Motor Oils. Side one with the Hourglass Graphic is in excellent condition, showing excellent color & gloss throughout the entire field. Side one shows some very well done areas of restoration in the inner field, with one dime size touch up in the S of Johnson, two dime size touch ups in the Hourglass graphic, one area in the lower right wing and one spot just above the OR of Motor. The outer edge shows two areas of repair at the bottom mounting holes. Side one displays excellent. Side two is also in excellent condition, showing excellent color & gloss throughout the field as well as bright colors and a clean Ethyl graphic. Side two shows an area of restoration at the H of Johnson as well as an area above the word Ethyl. There is one small areas of restoration above the G and O of Gasoline as well as one small touch up at the bottom right mounting hole. The repair work is incredibly well done and nearly unnoticeable. The sign displays extremely well and is a beautiful example of early Johnson Gasoline & Motor Oils advertising.
