Description
A Chinese carved jade toggle in the shape of a cong dating from the Ming dynasty or earlier. One side of the cong features a Chilong, and the other sides have linear patterns. The jade has a brown skin. The toggle has a string with wooden beads.
Dimensions are: 2 inches tall X 1 inches wide, 5.1 cm X 2.5 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It is in overall good condition with natural variation to the stone.
Provenance: From the estate of Lim Kee Chin, who was Singapore's trade commissioner to Hong Kong in the 1960s. Mr. Lim acquired these items while he was in Hong Kong.
