The Burning of Nottingham Castle
Unsigned, inscribed and titled on the reverse.
Oil on canvas, 18 x 26 in. (45.8 x 66.0 cm), framed.
Condition: Canvas trimmed and mounted to wood panel, retouch, heavily varnished.

N.B. The inscription on the reverse tells of the burning of Nottingham Castle in 1831 by an angry mob in a bitter dispute with the Duke of Newcastle.

Condition

Condition: HIghly varnished, enamel-like surface. Possible masking varnish.
