Lev (Leon) Samoilovich Bakst (Russian, 1866–1924). Color lithograph on paper. Costume Design, The Blue God Bayadere. Circa 1920s. Signed in print, lower right. Framed. Bakst, an artist, set designer, illustrator and designer, worked mainly in St. Petersburg and Paris. Master of easel painting and theatrical graphics, member of the World of Art association and theatrical and artistic projects of S. Diaghilev, one of the trendsetters of European fashion for exoticism and orientalism at the beginning of the 20th century.
