(lot of 2) Chinese 'Nanking Cargo' porcelain blue and white tableware, Qing dynasty, c. 1750, including: (1) bowl decorated on the exterior with a scholar crossing a bridge between two rocky isles, with a pavilions and pine tree, a trellis border to the interior rim, retaining original Christie's lot tag #3100, some pitting and some roughness, 5.75"diam; (1) plate decorated with landscape scenes of islands and pavilions, a trellis pattern with foliate panels on the cavetto, tree fruiting branches on the sculpted rim, retaining original Christie's lot tag #3757A, pitting and imperfections at rim, 8.5"diam; each accompanied by a Vanhall Antiques Ltd. Canada certificate of reciept, 3.25lbs total**Originally purchased at Christie's Amsterdam 'Nanking Cargo' auction in 1986 of material salvaged by Captain Michael Hatcher from the Geldermalsen, a VOC ship that sank on its homeward journey in 1752 **Provenance: From a private Texas collection**
