Description
Noel Rockmore (1928-1995, New Orleans), "Stovall Son," 1969, acrylic on masonite, signed, dated and titled upper right, with E. L. Borenstein Collection paperwork attached en verso, presented in a linen mat and wood frame, H.- 12 3/4 in., W.- 7 in., Framed H.- 17 1/4 in., W.- 11 5/8 in. Provenance: Originally from the E. Lorenz "Larry" Borenstein (1919–1981) Collection, an important art dealer in New Orleans and the "Father of Preservation Hall." Provenance: The Kissee Art Collection.
Condition
This painting has no visible signs of damage, paint loss or restoration. The collector has placed the original Borenstein paper inside of a plastic sleeve to try and preserve from further aging as well. This is a very handsome example of Rockmore’s work.
