Candelabras. An extraordinary pair of French Noble .950 silver seven-light candelabras on footed stepped circular bases decorated with floral swags and bearing the Blazon (coat of arms) of Baron Bertrand de Lassus - stamped with a pictorial purity mark Minerve casquée representing .950 silver. One candelabra base is engraved with the following, "Sayin Cumhurbaskani Celal Bayar'a Dualarimla takdim Patrik Atinagoras 1952" (My prayers are presented to the Honorable President Celal Bayar, Patriarch Atinagoras 1952). Total approx weight is 383.92 troy ounces (gross).By consignor provenance these candelabra were gifted to their grandfather, the President of Turkey, from the Eastern Orthodox Patriarch, Athenagoras. From a White Plains, NY estate. Dimensions: candelabras measure approx. 15" w x 27.50" h.
Condition
Good, with light surface scratches and minor dings/dents. Two bobeche are missing.
