Description
DESCRIPTION: Three piece clock garniture, spelter, late 19th century. Dufaud, Paris. Clock with two-train Japy Freres chiming movement and enamel chicklet numerals. Winged demon, sitting on top of a drum, holding a mallet in one hand and cymbal in the other hand on a X-shaped twig stand. With two candlesticks of accompanying winged musicians. PROVENANCE: From a Philadelphia family. The consignor is a direct descendant of Mary Rittenhouse (1795-1873). MEASUREMENTS: Clock 11” wide x 19“ high. Candlesticks 17" high. CONDITION: Old repairs to end of violin and body of guitar. Runs, stops and starts. IMPORTANT: Before bidding, please read the terms and conditions.
