U.S. MODEL 1872 LIGHT CAVALRY SABER, C. FOURTH QUARTER 19TH C., L 37 1/2" OVERALL Wire and leather-wrapped wood grip. Brass guard decorated with 13 stars and a winged eagle. Pommel decorated with a crest and laurel leaves. Curved, undecorated blade with no apparent maker's mark. Blade length 32". No scabbard.

Condition

Areas of pitting and rusting to the blade. Loss and wear to the leather grip. General surface wear due to ages and use.
