ANTIQUE / VINTAGE GOLD CARVED SHELL AND CORAL CAMEO BROOCHES, LOT OF FOUR, comprising a carved shell example featuring a Bacchante woman holding grapevines and wearing a ruffled dress in a frame that tests as 14K gold fineness possibly being rolled-gold, a carved coral example of a Classical bearded man having curly hair and wearing a laurel leaf crown in a frame that tests as 10K gold fineness with black enameling, and two carved shell examples in marked 10K gold frame featuring engraved decoration with one having a pendant hanging loop. Each tested or marked for gold fineness. Total weight including non-gold components: 54.9 grams. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. Largest example 1 7/8" x 2 3/8" OA.

Condition
Mostly in good to very good overall condition with minor to moderate wear and other imperfections including surface scratches, bending, and/or nicks; Bacchante woman cameo with a flake/small sliver chip to the pinky on her left hand, frame with darkened finish/residue possibly a chemical reaction to non-gold metal; coral cameo glued into frame, a split to hinge on pin; 10K example with pendant loop having repair to one side of frame corresponding to hinge on pin with sizable bend to edge, pin probably replaced with a stick pin fastener frozen on it.
