Conrad Fesig Reading, PA Tiger Maple Tall Case Clock. Eight-day time and strike weight driven brass movement, with a painted sheet iron dial signed Conrad Fesig Reading and having painted floral spandrels and a polychrome moon phase dial in the arch. Also having a string pull strike repeat. In a heavily striped tiger maple case in an old dry finish, hood with a broken arch pediment with three brass finials, carved rosettes and side columns, over a waist having a tombstone top door flanked by reeded corner columns, over a base having reeded corner columns, an applied panel and Ogee bracket feet. Conrad Fesig (1758-1815) was a clockmaker in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Circa 1775. 21"w. x 12"d. x 95”h. Condition: Very good with an old dry finish, minor flaking to the dial. Minor loss to one foot.
