Utagawa Hiroshige III (Japanese, 1842-1898), Nihonbashi Triptych
Meiji 15 (1882), woodblock print, triptych, an expansive view of old Edo during the early Meiji period (1868-1912), with horse drawn streetcars and electric lights and power lines, figures are dressed in a mix of old style attire and new Western styles that were being introduced to Japan at the time, rising behind the street scene is the Imperial Palace and Mount Fuji, signed and titled, framed together with mat, not examined outside of the frame.
Framed dimensions 20 x 33 1/2 in.; Sight size 13 3/4 x 28 1/4 in.
