Item Details

Description

Appraisal Estimate of 18,000-20,000. These are wonderful Foo Lions or Foo Dogs carved out of black jadeite/Nephrite and come on custom rosewood stands. These beauties were carved in Peking China. The male has his right front paw resting on the traditional cloth ball, the female has her paw on her cub on the left. Comes with a letter from Warren Imports in Laguna Beach, CA containing the description of these amazing carved animals. Both measure approx. 20" tall x 16" wide on stands. Each statue weights 70 pounds for a TOTAL WEIGHT OF 150 pounds, with stands, for both. Circa 1935
