With "Gauss-Bibliothek" stamp on title page along with that of the Gottingen Observatory, of which Gauss was the first director. A remarkable association, linking three of the greatest minds of modern science: Newton, Laplace ("the French Newton"), and Gauss, "the prince of mathematicians" and himself the author of several major works of mathematical astronomy.
Condition
