Description
[WILD WEST SHOWS]. CHICKERING, Elmer (1857-1915), photographer. Cabinet card of two wild west show performers, Eagle Eye and Neola. Boston: Chickering Photographic Studio, n.d. 3 15/16 x 5 1/2 in. albumen cabinet card on cardstock mount (toned, light surface abrasions). Photographer's imprints on mount recto and verso. Not much is known about the duo. Neola is typically shown wearing Iroquoian clothing, and we assume she is a member of one of the tribes of this historically important confederacy. Eagle Eye is shown waring skins with extensive fringe and adornment. Both pose with firearms.
