Description
3 Chinese Porcelains: a Kangxi or early 18th Century Cadogan Puzzle Teapot (fills from base) with an aubergine glaze and shaped as a Peach with stems, a flower and leaves forming handle and spout, together with a mirror black glazed vase with clear glazed inside and base and a small tea-green glazed egg-shell bud-vase. Length of Cadogan teapot from handle to spout 7 inches (17.7 cm.). PROVENANCE: From a private South Carolina collection.
Condition
Teapot with wear to glaze at spout, flower and leaves, glaze frits to stems at handle, brace-leaf to spout cracked and re-stuck, spout cracked near base and re-stuck with another parallel hairline below; black vase with polishing to black glaze kiln over-run at unglazed base; tea-green vase with light wear.
