Collection of Jacob Petit Paris Porcelain Objects
second quarter/mid-19th century, including a pair of bulb pots with pierced terracotta borders, decorated with hand-painted flowers, h. 7-3/4", w. 4-1/2", and an unusual lavender-ground vase decorated with a hand-painted scene of a boy reading to his dog on one side and a man and woman on the other, h. 6-3/4", w. 4-3/4", each piece signed "J.P." in underglaze blue, together with a female figure sweetmeat dish, h. 8", w. 8", d. 6", a Zouave-molded candelabrum standard, h. 11-1/4", w. 4-3/4", d. 4-1/2", a "boy" figural two-light candelabrum, h. 7-3/4", w. 5", d. 3-3/4", and an oval card tray on a scrolled base, h. 4", w. 5", d. 4", the sweetmeat dish and "boy" candelabrum signed "J.P." in underglaze blue.

Condition
On the bulb pots, one has two hairline cracks- one to the bottom, the other to the inside corner and dome of lid. The other bulb pot has a small repair to the inside rim. On the vase, there is a loss to the scalloped crest on the back. The sweetmeat dish has a repair to the center of the dish, and probable repairs with overglazing to the female figure's surrounding arms. Additional overpainting is present to the blue and black pigments at the back of the figure's gown. The encrusted flowers along the base have some small scattered losses to their tips. On the oval card tray, there are two small chips to the base and a few tiny losses to tray edges. "Boy" candelabra with notable rubbing to black glaze on hat and shoes. All objects with some rubbing to gilding.
