This is a wonderful old painting on artist board or panel. Unsigned, it features a man who appears to be a pastor or other religious figure. He is seated next to an open book. No visible signature on the front. The writing on the back is hard to make out but what can be seen looks like "a design for Mr ---------" and the rest looks like T. Louis and has been painted on a panel with a stencil mark of Muller fils, a Paris Framed measures 13.5" x 15.5", image size 7" x 9". Also looks maybe like Bishop of St. Louis...in pencil on the back. Very hard to decipher.

Appears to be a rub in the background painting to the upper left of his head and a chip in lower left.  Overall great condition, not examined out of frame. Â
