Ancient Near East, Sumerian or Achaemenid, ca. late 3rd to mid-1st millennium BCE. A fine selection of 3 hand-carved lapis lazuli amulets from the ancient Near East. First is an abstract anthropomorphic body with a quartet of nubbin limbs, a protruding neck, and a planar verso. Second is a rotund zoomorphic creature laying recumbent with a raised head bearing perky ears, perhaps a feline. The largest is a recumbent bull with incised striations beneath its body, a raised head with petite horns, and drilled eye sockets that perhaps held inlaid ornamentation at one time. Size of largest (bull): 0.8" L x 0.5" W (2 cm x 1.3 cm)

Old loss to top of head of anthropomorphic figure and bull missing original inlaid eye ornamentation as shown. All pieces have light encrustations and softening to some finer details, otherwise intact and very good. Nice preservation to stone coloration throughout.
