Description
A Russian Soviet antique badge - Ready for air and chemical defense established in 1935 by the Central Council of OSOAVIAKHIM, to be awarded to its members who passed the standards of the Ready for PVHO complex with excellent marks. The release of the award was stopped at the beginning of the WWII Great Patriotic War, but its award continued for another 5 years.OSOAVIAKHIM - Society for Assistance to Defense, Aviation and Chemical Construction.PVHO - air defense and chemical defense.The badge is made of a metal bronze base, in the form of a circle, framed by carved figures of a half wreath and half gear, with an anti-aircraft gun barrel and a gas mask below and an airplane in the spotlight above. In the middle, on a blue enamel background, there is an enameled five-pointed red star with an inscription in Russian Ready for PVHO. At the bottom of the badge, there is an enameled red ribbon with the inscription OSOAVIAKHIM. The fasteners of the badge are made in the form of an airplane figurine with a propeller attached to a circular disc, that secured with the badge by means of a chain, damaged on this item. On the back of the disk with the plane, the inscription PRPK V 4184 is engraved.
