Description
A group of four Chinese embroideries dating from the 18th or 19th century. The group includes: a pair of panels featuring boating landscape scenes with pine trees depicted on an orange ground, a geometric floral pattern panel, and a panel featuring fruit in a vase with a bat on an orange ground.
Dimensions are: the largest panel with the geometric floral pattern measures 17 1/2 inches tall X 11 inches wide, 44.5 cm X 27.9 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There is significant wear, staining, and damage throughout.
Provenance: From a private Northern Virginia collection. Collected in the early 20th century by the current owner's grandparents during their time stationed in China working for Standard Oil.
