Europe, France, ca. 18th century CE. A French stained glass composition of an overall circular form, the central section of the panel depicts a mustachioed male figure (perhaps a ruler or another important figure) wearing an elegant collared, long sleeved, buttoned shirt and a peaked hat emerging from a crescent form that is adorned by three fleur de lis motifs - all delineated with red, green, blue, and gold glass. The figure assumes a 3/4 profile pose and holds a stylized lily or wheat. Behind him is a pink on burgundy tufted form. Above is another image of this figure rising from wave or foliage motifs with an arched decorative border in blue and rose petal pink surrounding him. Finally, another decorative border in green and blue hues surrounds the entire circular panel. Size: 11.25" W x 12.125" H (28.6 cm x 30.8 cm)

Condition
Repaired from several large pieces, with minute area of restoration to arm of upper figure, and nicks and light adhesive residue along new material and break lines. Abrasions and fading to finer details, with light encrustations on some surfaces. Great remains of original detailing throughout.
