Pre-Columbian, South Coast Peru, Huari (Wari), ca. 700 to 1000 CE. A fascinating mold-made pottery figure of rotund form, depicted standing with both hands on his broad torso. Beautifully embellished with beige, light orange, and brown pigments, the hollow figure exhibits a sizable head, fit with a pair of almond-shaped eyes with ovoid pupils, a flat nose, and an open mouth. Two ears flank his curious visage, sticking out from below a beige skullcap. Lovely brown lines adorn his face, representing face paint or tattoos. Boasting a lustrous burnish, this intriguing figure serves as a fabulous example from Huari culture! Size: 4.75" W x 8.125" H (12.1 cm x 20.6 cm)
