1st century BC-2nd century AD. A mixed group of bronze and iron arrowheads comprising trilobate, leaf-shaped, kite-shaped, triangular and barbed examples. Property of a North London gentleman; acquired on the London art market in the 1990s. The most typical Roman arrowheads of 1st-6th century AD were of trilobate type. Many examples of iron tanged trilobate arrowheads have been found in the debris of Gamala's siege, belonging to the Levantine archers of the Roman Army besieging the city in 67 AD.
