Description
4th-3rd millennium BC. A ceramic chalice with tapering bowl, everted rim, waisted stem with broad splay, everted foot, collar and neck with single painted band above, the upper body of the dish interior painted with concentric swags between plain bands, with concentric circles to the centre. 4.1 kg, 31cm (12 1/4"). From an important deceased Japanese collector, 1970-2010.
