Description
1st century BC-2nd century AD. A mixed bronze group comprising: a bronze La Tène III type fibula with spring and pin; a Hod Hill type brooch with inked reference no. '3327'; a disc stud with lattice ornamented reserved on an enamelled field; a disc brooch with reserved starburst design on an enamelled field. 26 grams total, 23-70mm (1 - 2 3/4"). From a North Yorkshire collection formed since the 1980s; thence by descent; orange enamelled brooch found Puddletown, Dorset, UK, November 2011; La Tene III brooch found Mildenhall, Suffolk, UK; enamelled stud found Castleford, UK; Hod Hill brooch found near Eartham, West Sussex, UK and was to be published by Hattatt in his 4th book as No.1502, accompanied by Hattatt ticket number 3327 with similar inked number to the reverse.
