A pair of George Jones majolica jardiniÃ¨res
model 3499
circa 1876
Black painted model number 3499/11 to unglazed patch to underside of foot, diamond registration marks.
height 13 1/3in (34.3cm)
Provenance:
Property from a Private Collector, Pasadena, California.

Condition

Both with heavy dirt and staining to interiors. Both with surface dirt in crevices. One jardinière restored with flaking to restoration. The other with loss of one bird beak and restoration to one leaf, possible further restoration overall concealed by dirt. Typical small losses and wear overall, scattered abrasions.
