Description

George Jones (English, 1823 - 1893). Glazed ceramic. Height: 11", Diameter: 14" each. Pair of majolica jardinieres by George Jones. Depicts harpies and horned creatures to the side. Blue, yellow, green, brown, pink, and beige glazes. Underside with mottled brown and green glaze characteristic of George Jones. Otherwise unmarked.

Condition

Good condition; a clear coat appears to have been applied to these pieces some time ago, and the clear film is flaking away. The original glaze appears unaffected.
