Photographer: Edward S. Curtis (American, 1868 - 1952) - renowned photographer of the American West and the Native American Indian. Title: "A Feast Day At Acoma" Subject: Native American Indian - American West - Acoma Pueblo (Hopi, Zuni) tribe. In his notes Curtis said: "Franciscan missionaries early in the seventeenth century introduced certain public Christian rites among the Pueblos, which ever since have been performed, with an intermingling of native ceremonial practices, especially on the days of the saints to whose protection the villages were respectively assigned.
