The Chateau de Villedieu sur Indre is a ruined medieval monastic foundation established by the Abbey of the Trinity at Vendôme. The cult of Our Lady of Pity was transferred to the 15th-century parish church, which is the site of an annual pilgrimage in September.
Commune of Indre, in the former region of Berry, Villedieu-sur-Indre takes place ten kilometers from Buzançais, and thirteen kilometers from Chateauroux. It is located in the heart of Champagne Berry, not far from Saint-Maur.
