(Source: askart.com) Boston was born in 1855 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The first instructor of art at the Brooklyn Institute of Arts and Sciences, Frederick Boston settled in Brooklyn. He became founder and served as president of the Painters and Sculptors Club. He became known for townscapes, genre, and figurative painting. Boston died in 1932 in Brooklyn, New York.
