Description
**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Chupicuaro, ca. 500 BCE to 300 CE. A beautiful hand-built compact polychrome bowl set atop a trio of hollow triangular shaped legs. The basin's exterior boasts a highly burnished surface with a wonderfully painted linear motif accented by rectangular blocks in red, cream, and black pigments. The finely crafted legs are cream colored, minimalist in design yet quite striking because of their hollowed cut formation - completing a multifaceted silhouette effect. Size: 7" Diameter x 4" H (17.8 cm x 10.2 cm)
Provenance: private Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, USA collection, before 2000
All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to recent increases of shipments being seized by Australian customs (even for items with pre-UNESCO provenance), we will no longer ship most Antiquities and ancient Chinese art to Australia.
