Pair of JJ Audubon/Havell Colored Aquatint Engravings. This is a very handsome pair of hand colored aquatint engravings designed by John James Audubon (American, 1785 - 1851) and printed by the engraver, Robert Havell Jr. (English, 1793 - 1878). Havell was Audubon's principle printer for his, "Birds of America." The first one is a pair of "Children's Warblers" and the other is a, "Tennessee Warbler." We opened up the back of the, "Tennessee Warbler" and there is a water mark that says, "Whatman 1836." These would look wonderful in any interior setting and would be a perfect gift for any one who loves birds or natural history. Paper size of the prints measures, "38 in h x 25 in w.

Frame dimensions are 43 in h x 29.5 in w x 1.25 in d. Condition is very good. When we opened up the, "Tennessee Warbler" it had been backed with cardboard and the cardboard has left some staining on the back of the print. Because the other print is also backed with cardboard it can be assumed there might be some staining from the cardboard on that one as well. Frames have some dings and marks from wear.
