Robert E. Wood (American, 1926-1999), untitled lithograph in colors, 1966. Edition - E/100. Signed and dated in pencil on lower right. A wonderful work on paper depicting an abstract rendering of a streetscene in Japan or China that features Robert E. Wood's signature style of balancing abstraction with recognizable stylized figurative forms. The theme is similar to Wood's "Cultural Architecture" which was exhibited in "This Enchanted Land, American Regionalism 1930 - Today" at the Fallbrook Art Center in California, May 19-July 1, 2012. Wood also exhibited his works in New York City at the National Academy of Design and in various art galleries. He was also an active member of the American Watercolor Society, serving as their vice-president. On the West Coast, Wood exhibited regularly with the California Water Color Society and the West Coast Watercolor Society, presenting over eighty one-man shows since 1950. Size: sheet measures 23" L x 29.625" W (58.4 cm x 75.2 cm)
