Latin America, Mexico, ca. late 19th to early 20th century. A charming bichrome terracotta vessel of a globular form with a short cylindrical neck and a flared rim, all supported upon a rounded base. The exterior walls are beautifully decorated with three running zigzag bands and pointed root-like formations adorning the lower points, all in white on the tawny orange ground. A gorgeous example, skillfully rendered via the coil and scrape method and nicely decorated. Lucite ring used for photography is not included. Size: 14.5" in diameter x 14.25" H (36.8 cm x 36.2 cm)
