Description
**First Time At Auction**

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. A wonderful pair of ancient bone dice from a bovine or other ungulate. Each die is cube shaped with 6 faces, all with incised dot in circle motifs to indicate the numbers 1 through 6- exactly like the dice today! These gaming pieces highlight the universality of entertainment across cultures and centuries! Just imagine the Romans tossing this pair during a banquet or even rowdy soldiers drinking and playing chance while on a campaign. Size: .43" L x .3" W (1.1 cm x 0.8 cm)
