Description: Important 19th century Currier air travel lithograph. This piece is a pre Currier and Ives black and white lithograph political satire cartoon. Title of this piece is Grand Patent India-Rubber Air Line Railway to California. This illustration depicts caricatures of Calif gold rush prospectors hanging on a wire in the pacific landscape while a man flies ahead of them on a rocket. This has been the most talked about item in our office since it came in for its depiction of fuel powered air travel well back into the 19th century!
