Description
Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 21st to 25th Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 664 BCE. A sumptuous example of a mold-formed faience ushabti standing in mummiform atop an integral plinth. The slender figure holds a pick and hoe in arms crossed atop the chest, and a slightly raised hump behind the left shoulder is indicative of a seed bag. The protruding face exhibits petite, almond-shaped eyes, a narrow nose, indented mouth corners, and a false beard, all framed by the lappets of the cobalt blue wig. Size: 1" W x 3.6" H (2.5 cm x 9.1 cm); 4.2" H (10.7 cm) on included custom stand.
