Native American Carved Turquoise, Sterling Silver and Braided Leather Hawk Bolo Tie (Signed) - This Native American piece is a bolo tie comprised of a sterling silver slide on a braided black leather tie. The slide boasts a stunning solid carved turquoise hawk, symbolizing courage and strength. The tie is finished with sterling silver aiguillettes with 1.5" hanging feathers. This piece comes from a collection which has been housed in a vault for over 40 years. According to our seller, her parents started in the Native American jewelry business in 1972, and the family would travel to the New Mexico Native American reservations and purchase pieces directly from the tribes. They eventually went into the gold jewelry business and have kept these pieces in their private collection for over 40 years. Measurements: 38" tie, 2" x 2.5" slide. Condition: The piece is in excellent vintage condition with all turquoise intact, lovely patina.
